Michelman introduces Lube 160RPH slip emulsion

US-based coatings supplier Michelman is introducing a new water-based, friction-regulating additive for use in flexible packaging.

Dubbed Michelman Lube 160RPH, the wax emulsion modifies the coefficient of friction when added to a wide range of other Michelman coatings – including those used for low-temperature heat sealing. It can be employed on paper, plastics and aluminium foil without compromising other substrate properties, like their ability to hold print.

In a press release of 15 June, the company notes that Lube 160RPH is compliant with food contact requirements for both EU and US markets.
