Reseal Barrier Clear is formed of bi-oriented polypropylene (BOPP) coated with polyvinylidene chloride (PVDC). A resealable adhesive and polyester release liner are included to maintain barrier performance even after multiple openings and closings.
The outer surface is suitable for printing and all constituent materials are qualified according to US regulations – Code of Federal Regulations Title 21.
Flexcon market development specialist Michelle Lamontagne explains: ‘As the use of resealable packaging continues to increase, there is a growing need in the food market for packaging materials that enhance shelf life by maintaining food freshness.
‘The barrier properties of the PVDC-coated polypropylene provide moisture control ideal for these purposes, and this product serves as an example of our continued effort to meet the unique needs of the food packaging market.’
Besides limiting moisture migration from snacks, meats and cheese, to promote freshness; the new film can also be used for some other non-food applications – like wet wipes.
