EPA gives green light to Sanidate 15.0 food sanitiser

On 27 September, the US Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) granted approval to a sanitising solution for hard food contact surfaces named Sanidate 15.0.

Produced by Connecticut-based Biosafe Systems, the new product is now poised for a commercial roll out in the US in early 2016.

The developer says that Sanidate 15.0 is 15% peroxyacetic-acid and 10% hydrogen peroxide, which allows it to kills salmonella, e-coli and similar harmful bacteria that contaminate food contact surfaces.

The new qualification from the EPA covers the use of Sanidate 15.0 across a wide range of applications, including vegetables, meat, seafood, and poultry processing facilities.
