Dietmar Mäder, head of marketing and technical services for plastics at the Altana subsidiary, says: ‘Our new pigments offer the possibility to transform effects into emotions which attract consumers and pay off for our customers at the point of sale.’
The pigments are part of the Luxan K range and are suitable for use with polyolefins and PVC in food contact applications, as well as transparent polymers like polyethylene terephthalate (PET). The pigments are also being positioned for use in cosmetics packaging, and can be added to engineered resins for deployment in automotive fixtures and domestic appliances. Luxan K was shown alongside other Eckart innovations, including Symic C393, a highly chromatic gold shade coating, at K 2016. Symic C393 is also cleared for use in high-end food and cosmetic packs.
