Global Food Contact returns to Europe for 2015

Smithers is pleased to announce their annual Global Food Contact conference is returning to Europe, and will be taking place in Rome, Italy from 19-21 May 2015.

The Global Food Contact conference programme will focus on regulatory developments affecting the industry globally, with updates from Europe, North and South America, Asia, Africa and other emerging markets. The aim of the meeting is to bring together key industry leaders and legislators to gain timely insight in to global developments and initiatives and forecast the future industry landscape.

The agenda will engage key stakeholders and regulatory bodies and feature regional case studies from all reaches of the globe. 
The 2015 conference programme will consist of expert speakers from leading companies Keller & Heckman, BASF, CFSA, NIHS, Smithers Pira, Bemis, and many more.

Updates from Europe

The opening session will focus on the current European landscape, with updates from the European Union and an analysis of current ongoing challenges. The programme will covers the host country's perspective, Italy, and expand coverage over the rest of Europe including Scandinavian and Great British legislation updates, as well as discussing information exchange throughout Europe.

Developments in North America, South America and Canada

This session will look at updates from the USA, Canada and South America, with presentations from Health Canada, among many more regulatory experts. The session will also provide an update on Project Passport, from Jim Huang- Director, Scientific & Regulatory Affairs at Bemis.

US - European Comparisons

A comparison on the implementation in both regions and varying tactics adopted to drive continuity

Compliance updates from Asia and emerging markets

This session will provide regulatory updates from China, Japan, Africa and other emerging markets, from experts from China's National Center for Food Safety Risk Assessment and Japan's National Institute of Health Sciences

Approaches and initiatives across the globe

The closing session will provide a comparison of regulatory systems worldwide, with European and global brand owner perspectives and a projection for the future of the food contact industry.
