Specialist packaging firm MBK Tape Solutions has announced an expansion of its portfolio of adhesive tape products suitable for food contact applications.

The new Direct Food Contact products from the manufacturer include an adhesive transfer tapes, polytetrafluoroethylene (PTFE) coated glass cloth tapes and film tapes. These are now being made available tailored to a user's specifications - this can include using either permanent or removable adhesives at various thicknesses.

The tapes are in compliance with US Food and Drug Administration (FDA) rules for pressure-sensitive adhesives, and polyethylene films and other backings in food contact applications. MBK believes that these will help meet a burgeoning demand for tapes used in packaging and transporting foods, drugs, and other over-the-counter products.
