Michelman has launched a new varnish for flexible pack printing.
The Digiguard Gloss 310 provides a protective layer that is compatible with the European Plastic Implementing Measure (PIM) for food contact, and US Food and Drug Administration food contact requirements.
The gloss is designed to be used over HP Indigo Electroinks applied on HP Indigo digital presses, to protect and enhance the appearance of inks printed by the system for form, fill, and seal packaging applications.
The varnish is resistant to heat from a heat sealing operation, while a drying temperature of 60°C or above will ensure optimum heat resistance of the coating. It can be applied via flexo, gravure, or roll coater, or on a separate varnishing/finishing station.
Michelman's DigiGuard overprint varnishes are used to enhance appearance of and protect printed materials. DigiGuard varnishes are applied in liquid form over the digital print, and then require some form of drying or curing.
