LEATHERHEAD. 13 August 2015. Bringing together the realms of food contact and food additives, the second Food Contact and Additives conference will address all the current regulatory changes affecting the food industry, both from the perspective of the food ingredients and food packaging supply chains.
Coming to Georgetown, Washington D.C on September 28-30, the agenda features key sessions on the GRAS Notification Review, next steps for the food industry post-FSMA, emerging technology use and risk management for food packaging/additives and preparations for global standards. The program has a unique format of general opening and closing sessions addressing topics key to all food industry stakeholders and focused tracks taking a deeper look into specific issues for each sector.

Highlights of the agenda include presentations from two FDA representatives on critical topics of GRAS, guidance for food contact materials, and the implications of nanotechnology applications for consumer safety. Plus international focuses on food additives regulations in Canada and China and the global impact of the European Non-Internationally Added Substance (NIAS) regulations Initiative and EU declarations of compliance guidance.
FDA officials will be joined by experts from up and down the supply chain, including company representatives from Ocean Spray, Bemis, Coca-Cola, Wrigley and Valspar, and associations FEMA, GMA, and IFIC, bringing a unique diversity to the conference program.
Also encompassing an expert pre-conference session, led by Attorney Eric Greenberg on, “How much is enough?”, going beyond the basics of food contact material and additive regulations, to understand which steps are required to be sure you are in compliance.
