Alexandre Feigenbaum is Head of the CEF Unit at the European Food Safety Authority. He is responsible for the risk assessment of Food Contact Materials, of Enzymes, of Flavourings and of Processing aids. As Director of Research at the French National Institute for Research in Agronomy in Reims, he was organising research on food and packaging interactions, with a leadership on several EU research programmes. Alexandre has also been Chair of the "food contact materials" Panel of the French Agency for Food Security. His background is organic chemistry, and he has collaborated with Pr. Jean Marie Lehn (Strasbourg), Pr. Malcolm Green (Oxford) and Pr. Jean Pierre Pete (Reims).

Andreas Tschech graduated as Doctor of Sciences in 1985. After working for several years in R&D in the biotechnology industry, in 1994 he joined the largest CRO in Switzerland and worked in the registration and consulting division. From 2003 he managed the Regulatory Affairs Department In October 2007 Andreas Tschech started his own business WTConsulting with his partner providing regulatory consultancy and offering tailor-made solutions for the safety testing and safety assessment of food and drinking water contact materials as well as other consumer products.
Dr. Anna Gergely is Director EHS Regulatory of the International Law Firm Steptoe & Johnson LLP, based in Brussels. In a role equivalent to partner, Anna is the firm’s Principal Scientist, with a PhD in analytical chemistry and quantum chemistry, and is a registered European patent attorney.
Annette Schaefer has worked for the European Commission in the area of food contact materials since 2002. This year at the conference she will make the Keynote address "Update on European food contact regulations", and deliver a presentation entitled "Responding to food contact emergencies" which will cover all aspects of RASFF, as well as a glimpse of the future vision of a worldwide RASFF.
Dr Barry Podd gained a BA(Hons) and a PhD in Chemistry from the University of Essex. Post Doctoral Research Fellow for three years at the University of Surrey. He spent 26 years in the Chemical Industry in various positions in research & development, marketing, sales and the regulatory affairs departments before joining Kimberly Clark as European Regulatory Affairs Manager in November 2005.
