A storming success in Barcelona for Global Food Contact 2013!
This unique event returned to Europe for 2013 from 14-16 May in sunny Barcelona and attracted over 150 food contact professionals.

11-14 December in Vienna, Austria.
Over 130 companies attended in Vienna, and Plastics and Paper 2012 was one of the biggest food contact events yet and continues to be the best event on the regulatory aspects on FCM - D Dainelli, Sealed Air.

Global Food Contact 2012 - the only GLOBAL food contact forum
Global Food Contact 2012 took place in May in Baltimore, USA and was a resounding success! Over 110 delegates came together to discuss pressing food contact issues and were provided with global perspectives on food contact regulation from leading industry experts and national legislators from across the world.
The conference was also co-located with another successful conference Extractables and Leachables USA 2012, an inaugural event for 2012, organised by Smithers Rapra.

Involved since 2000 in the safety evaluation of food contact materials, he was working with universities and research centers in Spain, France and USA. In 2003, he joined the Packaging Group in the Quality & Safety Department at the Nestlé Research Centre in Switzerland. Starting from the lab he led in 2007 the roll-out of the Nestlé “Packaging Safety and Compliance” initiatives in Americas, Asia, Oceania and Africa. In June 2008 he moved to Operations taking the Packaging Safety and Compliance Specialist position for Nestlé Nutrition. Two years after, he moved to the Nestlé Product Technology Center in Orbe as Senior Quality Specialist for Materials in contact with Food. Since October 2011 he is working as Regulatory Manager of the new Nestlé System Technology Center (STC) dealing with compliance of Dispensers and capsules/packaging. The STC assist important businesses as Nespresso, Nescafé Dolce Gusto, Barista, Special-T or BabyNes.

Dr. Yoko Kawamura is the Former Director of Food Additive Division at National Institute of Health Sciences (NIHS), Japan. She has worked for food safety affairs mainly about residue pesticides, food irradiation, food contact materials and food additives at NIHS during 40 years. She was the Chief of Food Contact Section for 15 years and then became the Director of Food Additive Division. At the year before last she retired her position, but she is still working at NIHS as a researcher for the safety of food contact materials and food additives. She is also a member of Joint FAO/WHO Expert Committee on Food Additives (JECFA) during 17 years. She received her Ph.D in Pharmacology Science from the Kyoto University.

Ms Zhu Lei works at China National Center for Food Safety Risk Assessment(CFSA) , previously National Institute of Nutrition and Food Safety(NINFS), China CDC. She is responsible for secretariat of food related products sub-committee under China National Food Safety Standard Committee and food packaging clean-up expert panel. She organizes establishment and revision of China National safety standards of food related products, including horizontal standard GB 9685 National standard of additives used in food packaging materials and series of commodity standards.

Dr. Marina Vivas is a Scientific Evaluator in the Food Packaging Materials and Incidental Additives Section of the Bureau of Chemical Safety at Health Canada. Her work includes conducting evaluations of the chemical safety of food packaging materials. She received her PH.D in Polymer Chemistry from the University of Ottawa, Canada.
Ralf Eisert is heading the Global Regulatory Affairs group of BASF Performance Chemicals in charge of regulatory issues on consumer safety of additives and polymers used in contact materials with food or drinking water, pharmaceutical and medical applications.
He is a member of food contact material groups in PlasticsEurope, CEFIC, SPI and AICM. He currently chairs the food contact expert group FCE of PlasticsEurope.
