Global Food Contact 2011 - a great success!
Global Food Contact 2011 proved to be a great success and the biggest occurence of this conference to date attracting over 150 people to the fascinating city of Frankfurt for 3 days of engaging presentations, debates and networking.

A note from the producer
The Global Food Contact 2011 conference was a great event for all speakers, guests and attendees. The two conference days featured a very busy programme, full of comprehensive presentations on food contact legislation around the globe, which prompted much valuable discussion between delegates.
Highlights of the programme for me included an interesting update on the upcoming German inks legislation from Dr Joerg-Peter Langhammer, Chairman of the EuPIA Technical Committee "Printing Inks for Food Packaging", a first time speaker at a Pira food contact event and a very comprehensive overview of Latin American regulations from Alejandro Ariosti of INTI on Day 1. Another first for this event opened the second day of proceedings and delegates learnt about the new food contact substance notifications in China in a live interview with Chinese regulators.
Many first time attendees, from across the world, joined us in Frankfurt, and I am sure that all delegates were able to leave the conference having learnt a lot, shared ideas and with many new contacts and friends. I thoroughly enjoyed the conference and am looking forward to seeing everyone again in Rome for Plastics and Paper in December.

Pira International was proud to bring back the Global Food Contact conference for 2011 to the artistic and cultural city of Frankfurt on 14-16 June 2011.
This year was a sell out with more than 150 packaging safety professionals from the whole supply chain from over 25 different countries came together to share ideas, discuss regulatory developments in the packaging sphere and foster working relationships with international business leaders and legislators. Showcasing leading speakers on the critical issues that are affecting the food contact industry on a global scale, it was a truly unique and valuable conference for all.
The event comprised of two pre-conference workshops and a 2 day conference programme featuring presentations from legislators, regulators and leading food contact experts. With particular focus on nanomaterials, printing inks and harmonisation across the globe, this was the global event for the food contact industry.
